Australian Ethics Review Bodies Benchmarking Exercise

Are you the Chair or Executive Officer of an ethics review body registered with the NHMRC?

CT:IQ and the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invite you to participate in a national ethics review body benchmarking process.

Your participation will inform the CT:IQ and ARDC project Clinical Research Data Sharing Frameworks, which is seeking to develop practical resources to support high-quality, efficient, sharing of Australian clinical research.

Participate in Stage One: Survey of Australian Ethics Review Bodies

Stage One invites you, as Executive Officer or Chair, to complete a brief survey.

In this survey we will ask you about your ethics review body’s experiences and challenges reviewing proposals that involve the secondary use of data. We will also invite you to comment on areas that need more effective support to best enable your ethics review body to confidently and robustly assess these proposals.

Complete the survey here. It should take 15-20 minutes.

Register your interest in Stage Two: National Benchmarking Review

At the conclusion of the Stage One Survey, ethics review bodies will be able to register their interest in participating in a review of a mock research proposal. This exercise will allow us to anonymously compare approaches to deliberating proposals involving secondary data use.

  • Ethics review bodies will remain anonymous.
  • No individual performance assessment will be conducted.
  • Findings will only be shared in an aggregated format.
